Coalition of Relief and Building (CRB) visits Saba Region University in Marib
October 8, 2024Today, Monday, CRB’s team and Turkish Religious Foundation delegation visited Kara general Hospital in Marib governorate to review the hospital’s needs and the intervention areas regarding emergency health aspects and sustainable projects.
The Director general of Kara general Hospital, Dr. Louay Mohammed Suleiman, welcomed CRB team and the Turkish Religious Foundation delegation, appreciating the efforts they are making in implementing humanitarian projects in different fields, particularly health sector. Moreover, he appreciated their concern for hospitals infrastructure and health facilities as well as the vital and sustainable projects that greatly alleviate the suffering of IDPs and the host community in Marib.
During the visit, CRB team and Turkish Religious Foundation delegation discussed the essential needs and services not available in the hospital. They also discussed the needs of maternity and childhood building, which suffers from a lack of furniture and limited capabilities. The malnutrition treatment center, and the problem of public housing for the hospital’s staff also were on the table.
The director of Kari general Hospital explained that there is a huge burden facing the hospital due to the financial deficit and lack of furniture of the completed buildings such as that of maternity and childhood building. He pointed out that the spread of epidemics, infectious diseases and acute watery diarrhea has returned to the forefront again and that may increase the need and place added burdens on the health staff compared to the current capabilities.
For his part, the director of Humanitarian and Charitable Works Department at the Turkish Religious Foundation in the Middle East, Mr. Mustafa Ardeem, explained the type of humanitarian interventions in the governorate, and what has been provided during the last period, in partnership with Coalition of Relief and Building. He emphasized his readiness to provide support to the hospital in the field that he can intervene.
In addition, CRB’s director general, Dr. Ezz Al-Din Mithqal, expressed his appreciation for the hospital’s efforts, praising the great role of the service agencies in facilitating the implementation of humanitarian and development projects in the governorate that houses millions of IDPs.
