October 20, 2026
Marib Deputy Governor Dr. Abdrabuh Muftah today inaugurated a free charitable medical camp providing cataract removal surgeries and intraocular lens implantation using phacoemulsification technology. The camp is being implemented by the Coalition of Relief and Building (CRB), with support from Türkiye Diyanet Vakfı and under the supervision of the Marib Public Health and Population Office.
The camp aims to perform surgeries for approximately 400 patients in Marib as part of efforts to support the health sector, expand access to specialized medical services for the most vulnerable groups, and help ease the financial and other barriers that prevent patients from accessing the care they need.
During the inauguration, the Deputy Governor underscored the importance of such humanitarian initiatives in supporting the health sector and improving patients’ access to medical services, particularly amid the growing healthcare needs in the governorate.
Mohamed Makhresh, Secretary-General of CRB, said the camp is part of the organization’s humanitarian and health programs aimed at improving access to specialized medical care and helping patients regain their ability to lead normal, independent lives.
