
Coalition of Relief and Building (CRB) launches school bag project for 5,000 beneficiaries in 6 Yemeni governorates

October 7, 2024CRB Coalition of Relief and Building (CRB) launched, today, Saturday, the school bag project in Marib governorate, in ongoing efforts to support education and enhance the stability of the educational process in Yemen, as the project will cover 6 Yemeni governorates.
The project, funded by the Turkish Religious Foundation, was launched under the auspices of the Presidential Leadership Council member and Marib governorate ggovernor, Sultan bin Ali Al-Arada, and in the presence of Humanitarian and Charitable Works executive director at TRF, Mr. Mustafa Ardeem, and Humanitarian and Charitable Works department specialist, Mr. Muhammad Baha Al-Din, and a number of local authority officials and civil society organizations leaders in the governorate.
The project included distribution of school bags that include all school learning materials, and school uniform for male and female students from the most needy families. The project addressed a number of (1500) students, of both genders in Marib, as part of the project second phase..
The school bag project aims to support education and enhance stability for male and female students from families suffering from difficult conditions in the most affected communities, with a high number of IDPs due to the living conditions deterioration and the exacerbation of the humanitarian crisis in the country.
On behalf of Marib local authority leadership headed by major general Sultan bin Ali Al-Arada, Marib deputy governor, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Bakri, expressed his thanks to Turkish Religious Foundation and CRB for the generous gesture to support education in the governorate. He appreciated the great efforts of TRF and CRB in different fields.
The director general of Executive Unit for the Management of IDPs Camps in Marib, Mr. Saif Muthanna, praised such projects that would be an important factor for affected families to continue their education.
In addition, CRB’s director general , Dr. Ezz Al-Din Mithqal, said in the inauguration speech, “Such distinguished humanitarian projects have a great impact in spreading a smile and creating joy on the faces of students.” He explained that those projects enhance students confidence to continue their education.
Mithqal added in a statement to CRB Humanitarian Media Center, “Education sector is one of the most important sectors on the priorities of CRB, followed by sustainable development projects such as sustainable shelter and food projects, and other contributions that are in line with emergency humanitarian response plan launched by the local authority, that means the movement from emergency relief to sustainable relief and community recovery.”
It is worth noting that the school bag project will cover the governorates of Aden, Hadramout, Taiz, Marib, Hodeida and Al-Mahrah with 5,000 integrated multi-varieties bags for students of displaced families and the host community.
