As part of ongoing humanitarian efforts to support Yemeni refugees in the Republic of Djibouti and respond to their basic needs, the Coalition of Relief and Building (CRB) launched an urgent relief campaign at the Yemeni refugee settlement in Obock Governorate.
The campaign was supported and funded by Türkiye Diyanet Vakfı, in coordination with the Ministry of Social Affairs and the National Union of Djiboutian Women.
The campaign included the distribution of 1,000 food and shelter assistance packages to refugee families affected by the consequences of the war in Yemen. The assistance aimed to help alleviate their hardship and address some of their most pressing basic needs, particularly food and shelter.
The distribution was carried out in the presence of representatives of the institutions involved in organizing the campaign. Participants highlighted the importance of the initiative in supporting Yemeni refugees and helping them cope with difficult humanitarian conditions, while emphasizing the need for continued efforts to address their essential needs.
CRB representatives also highlighted the strong coordination and cooperation between local institutions and international humanitarian partners, describing the partnership as a model of complementarity in humanitarian action and an expression of solidarity and mutual support. Such cooperation contributes to strengthening the capacity of different stakeholders to respond to the urgent needs of the most vulnerable groups.
They further commended the humanitarian role played by the Republic of Djibouti in hosting refugees and providing them with support and assistance through coordinated efforts by government institutions, local organizations, and humanitarian partners to respond to their needs and improve their reception conditions.
The initiative comes as part of the continued humanitarian efforts of Türkiye Diyanet Vakfı and the Coalition of Relief and Building to provide assistance and support to vulnerable and people in need, helping alleviate the impact of difficult humanitarian conditions and promote the values of compassion, cooperation, and solidarity.
