Coalition of Relief and Building (CRB) inaugurated, today, Sunday, a tower tank in Al-Qowz Camp in Marib, in the presence of  local authority represented by  Marib deputy governor, Dr. Abdullah Al-Bakri; director general of  Rural Water Authority, Dr. Ali Hathall; and  Water Sector Officer in  Executive Unit for the Management of IDPs Camps, Mr. Arafat As-Sabbari. The tower tank is funded by CARE International and it is part of water and environmental sanitation projects.

The project responds to the IDs call in Al-Qouz Camp to contribute to meeting their needs and securing clean and usable water for them and their families suffering from difficulty in obtaining water. It also contributes to achieving  sustainable development goals.

This project is considered part of a package of activities that accompanied the tower tank construction, included in Integrated Response Project for Food Security, Livelihoods, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, implemented by Coalition of Relief and Building (CRB), in partnership with CARE International.

Being inaugurated amid IDPs’ joy, the project included: a 50 cubic meter tower tank, a 400 meter long pumping line from the well to the tank, as well as 2200 meter long water lines from the tank to the camp points, and 26 new distribution points  in order to reach a largest number of families suffering from a severe shortage of clean and usable water. At the inauguration, Marib deputy governor, Dr. Abdullah Al-Bakri, expressed his thanks and appreciation to CRB’s and CARE International efforts for their efforts to establish infrastructure that meets the IDPs and the host community need, especially in the water sector. He stressed that the governorate lacks many services, calling on donors and international and local organizations to contribute to providing the IDPs needs in Marib.

In the same context, Rural Water Authority director general, Dr. Ali Hathal, praised this basic and important project that is considered a great service provided to IDPs in the camp, in the difficult and harsh conditions displaced families experienced  in different camps.
