October 17, 2024Coalition of Relief and Building (CRB) launched the school bag project in Al-Mahrah governorate, as part of the ongoing efforts to support education and enhance the stability of the educational process in Yemen.
The project includes the distribution of school bags containing all school tools and supplies, and school uniforms for male and female students for the most needy families. It is funded by the Turkish Religious Foundation, and targets 500 male and female students of Al Ghaydah district in Al-Mahrah governorate.
The school bag project aims to support education and enhance students stability of those families living in difficult conditions in the most affected communities due to living conditions deterioration and the exacerbation of the humanitarian crisis in the country.
During the inauguration, Al Ghaydah district director , Mr. Salem Awad, expressed his great happiness at launching the school bag project in Al-Mahrah governorate, emphasizing the importance of such important projects in improving the lives of poor families and contributing to providing part of their needs, and alleviating the burdens that the ongoing war in the country leaves on them.
For his part, the director general of Al-Mahrah governorate Education Office, Mr. Samir Harash, said, “These projects enhance affected families stability in Yemen, especially in governorates suffering from high IDPs number and difficult conditions, hoping that the project would contribute to improving students’ educational conditions in the governorate and enhancing their opportunities to obtain a good education.
In addition, Al-Mahrah Social Affairs and Labor Office deputy director general, Mr. Salem, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the parties supporting and implementing the project, stressing their continued cooperation in implementing humanitarian and relief projects in all fields.
The inauguration was attended by Mr. Abu Bakr bin Burik, director general of Executive Unit Office for Management of IDPs Camps in Al Mahrah governorate, and a number of representatives of local authority offices and civil society organizations in the governorate.
