Today, On Sunday, The Deputy Director of the Education Office in Ma’rib, Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Bakeri inaugurated Shaqra Primary School in Al-Khalayet Camp, District Al-Wadi. The school wasbuilt by Coalition of Relief and Building (CRB)

Mr. Al-Bakeri praised the Shaqra school project, thanking CRB for this project and its other contributions in the field of education, emphasizing that the schools built by CRB have a significant and prominent role in easing the burdens of the education sector in  Ma’rib and in the return of students from displacement camps to schools.

The Director of the CRB office in the Marib, Mr. Yahya Qahtan, welcomed the audience and gave a brief introduction of the Shaqra Primary School project.

Mr. Qahtan explained that the Shaqra Elementary School consists of 6 classrooms, an administration room, a storeroom, and 2 bathrooms. In addition, school is fully furnished and it can accommodate 450 students.

He added that this school is a contribution of CRB to provide and improve access to education in a stable and sustainable manner in the displacement camps. Furthermore, to improve the quality of education  in the camps, and support students’involvement in the education.

It is noteworthy that CRB has built several schools over the past years, contributing to the eradication of illiteracy, raising awareness among the IDP’s, and finding sustainable solutions for the education of internally displaced and poor children.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Ms. Beirut Almaflahi (Education Cluster, Beirut), the Director of the Coordination Office of Humanitarian Affairs “OCHA” Mr. Niazi, and several officials and members of the local authority in Marib Governorate and a large gathering of citizens.
