July 15, 2025Coalition of Relief and Building (CRB) office in Aden recently hosted a specialized awareness session titled “Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities and Advocacy for Women.” The session was organized by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor in partnership with Handicap International and in coordination with CRB, as part of joint efforts to promote inclusion and equality in community and humanitarian activities.
The session aimed to raise awareness about the importance of integrating persons with disabilities into society and all aspects of life. This was achieved through direct guidance sessions, interactive activities, and the distribution of specially designed informational materials that emphasize the values of inclusion and non-discrimination.
The session covered a range of topics, including the importance of incorporating persons with disabilities into programs and projects, the challenges they face in accessing services, and strategies for inclusive and effective engagement with their needs in the context of humanitarian work.
Ms. Fatima Salam, representing Handicap International, attended the event along with several humanitarian workers and individuals interested in disability-related issues.
Handicap International reaffirmed its commitment to promoting the principles of inclusion and non-discrimination, and to working with local partners to ensure an inclusive environment that respects the rights and dignity of persons with disabilities across all stages of humanitarian and development interventions.
