July 15, 2025For many Yemeni families, Eid is a painful reminder of what they’ve lost. Years of conflict have stripped away the joy and celebration that once filled their homes. But this year, something remarkable happened. Loving hearts from different parts of the world reached out, bringing kindness and generosity to those in need. Thousands of families across Yemen felt a spark of hope and joy, and for a moment, the true spirit of Eid was alive again.
The Sacrificial Animal Project, implemented by Coalition of Relief and Building (CRB) for the year 1446 AH, had left an exceptional impact on the lives of tens of thousands of Yemeni families. The project targeted more than 77,952 poor and displaced families in eight the Yemeni governorates of Hadhramaut, Marib, Taiz, Aden, Lahj, Abyan, Al Mahrah, and Hodeida
Abu Miqdad”, a displaced from Hodeida and living with his children in Al-Suwayda camp in Marib Governorate says, “I never expected to be able to get a sacrifice for Eid. We thought these things were a thing of the past, but when the sacrificial animal caravan arrived, I felt that Eid had returned to us, and joy returned to my children’s faces.”
He added: “I feel my heart filled with peace. Eid wasn’t just about food, but a feeling that goodness is still present”, pointing to the psychological and social impact left by the sacrificial project, even after the days of Eid.
Abu Miqdad is not the only one who regained the feeling of Eid because of this project. Rather, he was like thousands of Yemeni families who had nothing to do but to supplicate in silence. Moreover, in every governorate the project team visited, there was a story waiting to be narrated, and faces exhausted by cruelty looking for a glimmer of joy.
It is worth mention that Coalition of Relief and Building ensured that the distribution process was carried out with precision, targeting the neediest families while respecting their dignity. The project was implemented in a safe and organized manner, alleviating the psychological and economic burden on thousands of families.
In conclusion, the sacrificial meat distribution project served as a bridge of hope, extending from generous hands to hearts exhausted by deprivation. It carried within it a sincere message that humanity is still present, and when giving flows from the hearts, it makes a real difference in people’s lives. The sacrificial meat was not just a meal on families’ tables during Eid; it provided psychological and social support for these families, who lack even the most basic necessities, amid the humanitarian suffering the country is experiencing.
