The Director General of the Water and Sanitation Corporation in Marib Governorate, Mr. Hussein bin Jalal, along with the Coordinator of the Water and Environmental Sanitation Cluster, Dr. Yasser Al-Ameri, and the Director General of the Relief and Building Forum CRB , Dr. Ezzedine Mithqal, inaugurated today, Wednesday, the well of the Artesian Sahn neighborhood, in the city of Marib, which is implemented by the Relief and Building Forum CRB, funded by the Turkish Religion Endowment.
This project, which consists of: “an artesian well with a depth of 160 meters, an electric submersible pump with all its accessories, a 10-meter reinforced tower tank with a capacity of 80 cubic meters with a feed network from the well to the tank, a 4*5m pump room” comes within the framework of efforts to improve water supply and secure the needs of the population in the area, carried out by the Relief and Building Forum.
During the opening ceremony, the Director General of the Water Corporation, Hassan bin Jalal, expressed his deep thanks to the Coalition of Relief and Building (CRB) and the Turkish Religious Endowment for their continuous efforts in supporting development and humanitarian projects in the province. He stressed the importance of this new structure in providing clean water and meeting the needs of the population.
Bin Jalal praised the role of the Coalition of Relief and Building (CRB) and the partners funding this project, pointing out that this project is a unique model for the interventions of humanitarian organizations, which reaps the fruits of the most affected groups in the governorate.
Dr. Kamal Al-Qadami, head of the Coalition of Relief and Building (CRB) , said, “These projects are part of a series of projects implemented by the forum in Marib, with the aim of supporting infrastructure and providing basic services to the local community, in light of the environmental and humanitarian challenges facing the region.”
Al-Qadami added that he hopes that this project will contribute to achieving the sustainable development goals and improving the quality of life for citizens in the region, and that it will have a positive impact on the beneficiaries of the displaced and the local community.
For his part, the head of the delegation of the Turkish Religious Endowment, Mr. Muhammad Bahaa El-Din, praised the effective cooperation with the development projects implemented by the Forum in the region, stressing the Waqf’s continued support for these efforts aimed at improving the living conditions of the population in Yemen.
It is worth mentioning that this project will contribute to providing drinking and usable water to 3,000 families of low-income, poor and needy displaced people from various governorates, who lacked clean water and were difficult to transport from distant places.
