Obviously, Yemen faces great humanitarian challenges because of the ongoing conflict and the deteriorating living conditions of the population in general and the displaced communities in particular. To ease that, ceaseless and culminated efforts are required to provide aid and implement humanitarian projects.

In this regards, Coalition for Relief and Building (CRB) played a prominent role during the year 2024, as it implemented many projects that improved thousands of families’ lives and strengthened their resilience in the most affected communities in many various regions of Yemen. This role stems from the coalition’s commitment to providing sustainable humanitarian support in various fields.

It is worth mentioning that CRB’s last year relief and development projects covered many humanitarian fields, emergency interventions and sustainable development activities. Consequently, the number of projects’ beneficiaries reached 792042 individuals from different social groups in 12 Yemeni governorates. It did its best to provide various relief and development assistance in all humanitarian fields to contribute to meeting needs, either sustainable or urgent.

Various projects

Those projects implemented by CRB covered many fields including distributing basic food supplies to the most needy families; providing health services; improving access to clean water; and providing sustainable, transitional, and emergency shelter for hundreds of families in real need. CRB also contributed to providing a safe educational environment in affected communities to ensure education continuity.  Protection field was present, as the coalition provided a safe space for children, and provided cash assistance. And in the field of improving livelihoods, CRB supported economic activities and small projects to enable families to achieve self-sufficiency.

In sustainable development programs, CRB implemented 17 projects in seven governorates with 95578 beneficiaries. It was CRB contribution to achieve sustainable development goals and increase community opportunities to live in dignity.

Data and Statistics

A number of 119161 beneficiaries in eight governorates benefited from water and environmental sanitation projects. Those projects varied between sustainable projects such as artesian and surface water wells; water tower tanks and water collection tanks;   water supply networks; water distribution points; and solar energy operated water systems. The water supply projects for both usable and potable water were carried out via water tank trucks to camps and IDPs collecting sites.

Furthermore, 19481 beneficiaries benefited from shelter and non-food items projects;  5887 beneficiaries in the field of education; 7147 beneficiaries in the field of health and nutrition; 632677 beneficiaries from food security and agriculture projects; and 7689 beneficiaries benefited from protection projects.

Not just figures

In this regard, CRB head Dr. Kamal Al-Qudami indicated that ”the year 2024 was full of giving and hard work.” He explained that CRB saved no efforts, and in cooperation with local and international partners, to contribute to improving the lives of poor families and providing them with relief items to alleviate their pains and suffering, especially those in the most vulnerable areas that suffer from continued displacement and being exposed to flood disasters during the last year.

In press statements, Al-Qudami said: “Those efforts being made are not just figures or projects implemented during this year, but rather a true embodiment of our vision to achieve positive change in families and communities lives.” He added, ”The success comes from the fruitful cooperation with our partners, who were part of this eventful development journey that extended for years in relief and development work.”

Al-Qudami expressed his sincere and deep thanks to all partners and supporters who played a major role in this success; and to all the CRB workers and volunteers, who made efforts to get tasks done out of their believing in the greatness and nobility of humanitarian work and its lofty message.
