This morning, Wednesday, the Humanitarian Media Center (HMC), in partnership with Coalition of Relief Building (CRB) and in coordination with the Executive Unit for the Management of Displacement Camps, inaugurated a consultative workshop focused on the current status of services and needs in Marib displacement camps. The workshop brought together representatives from various camps.
Facilitated by trainer Mohammed Farhan, the workshop aims to collect precise field data from camp managers on services and infrastructure, identify urgent needs and key priorities within the camps, discuss challenges related to water, health, education, food sectors, and protection issues, enhance coordination among humanitarian agencies, and propose practical, implementable solutions.
During the consultative workshop, Dr. Ezz Addin Methqal, CRB Director General, noted that ”the IDPs situation in camps has become increasingly difficult because of the ongoing conflict. The time requires all humanitarian actors to stand side by side with displaced families.” He praised the efforts of humanitarian workers, including camp representatives at various displacement sites.
In his welcoming speech, Khaled Al-Hatemi, HMC Director, expressed appreciation to the participants, stressing that this workshop represents an important step toward understanding the challenges faced by IDPs on the ground and directly hearing their voices. He stated, “Solutions are not created behind closed doors but through field experience and sincere observations from those in direct contact with the needs of displaced families.”
It is worth mentioning that participants will discuss the immediate needs of the most affected households, medium-term needs requiring future planning, alongside reviewing humanitarian aspects that demand rapid intervention for the most vulnerable groups.
At the conclusion of his speech, HMC Director expressed deep gratitude to the attendees, appreciating their commitment to participating and contributing to efforts aimed at improving the humanitarian situation of displaced persons, hoping the workshop will be an effective step toward a better and more humane reality.
