Civil society organizations in Yemen welcome the initiative of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor in nominating and accrediting a number of active associations and institutions with the official authorities in the State of Kuwait. This step was taken in line with recognized humanitarian and development standards and reflects a commitment to strengthening the role of civil society in responding to the needs of the population.
This development represents an important opportunity to empower qualified national organizations that are capable of implementing humanitarian and developmental programs which contribute to serving communities and complement state efforts in addressing pressing challenges.
The civil society organizations acknowledge and appreciate the ongoing support of the State of Kuwait—its leadership, government, and people—for humanitarian and development causes in Yemen. Such support builds on longstanding ties between the two countries and continues to make a meaningful difference in easing the suffering of affected communities.
We also recognize the contribution of His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al-Zawari, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, and His Excellency Dr. Ali Mansour bin Safaa, Ambassador of Yemen to the State of Kuwait, in fostering stronger cooperation and creating wider opportunities for national civil society to engage more effectively in humanitarian action.
Yemeni civil society organizations reaffirm their commitment to working in partnership with all national and international actors dedicated to supporting the people of Yemen and advancing sustainable humanitarian and development initiatives.
