Coalition of Relief and Building (CRB) – Djibouti Office participated in a coordination meeting held on Tuesday at the ministerial complex at the headquarters of the Ministry of Social Affairs, to discuss the arrangements and preparations for implementing this year’s Ramadan activities.
The meeting was attended by the Office Director, Mr. Yasser Al‑Shamiri, along with a number of staff members from the Ministry of Social Affairs, and was chaired by Mr. Ali Mohammed Abdullah, Relations and Follow‑up Officer at the Ministry.
The discussions focused on reviewing and evaluating last year’s Ramadan activities and exploring mechanisms for enhancing humanitarian interventions during the upcoming Ramadan season, in a way that ensures improving the level of services provided to the most vulnerable groups.
The meeting emphasized the importance of ongoing coordination and regular data updates with the Ministry of Social Affairs in the event of any developments, while the Ministry expressed its readiness to provide all necessary facilitations to ensure the success of the various Ramadan activities.
Both parties agreed on the need to adhere to humanitarian standards in the implementation of activities, particularly with regard to distribution mechanisms and media coverage, in a manner that safeguards the dignity of poor and vulnerable families, with a recommendation that distributions be implemented prior to the beginning of the blessed month of Ramadan.
At the conclusion of the meeting, officials from the Ministry of Social Affairs commended the efforts of CRB and all actors in the humanitarian field, praising their role in bringing joy to needy families during the holy month.
